Book of Shadows

The Rede has an unseen entry in the Book of Shadows.

"An harm it none, do what ye will."
Phoebe Halliwell quoting the Wiccan Rede to her sister Prue.[src]

The Wiccan Rede is the key moral system that distinguishes a witch from evil witches and warlocks.

When first becoming witches, Phoebe Halliwell read through the first pages of the Book of Shadows, which included the Wiccan Rede. She explained to Prue and Piper that a good witch follows the Wiccan Rede, and that a bad witch or a warlock has but one goal; to kill good witches and obtain their powers.

Notes and TriviaEdit

  • The word "Rede" derives from Middle English, meaning "advice" or "counsel". "An" is an archaic Middle English conjunction, meaning "if." "Ye" is an archaic or dialectal form of "you" (nominative plural).
