Vivian was a witch with the very rare power of Deflection. Her whitelighter was Natalie, and she was Natalie's most powerful charge until she was killed by the warlock Eames in 2001. She was an upper-level witch, but less powerful than the Charmed Ones.
History
Getting Killed by Eames

Vivian didn't always listen to Natalie, in part because even more so than the Charmed Ones, she wanted a normal life as much as possible. When Natalie got word that a warlock might be coming after Vivian, she warned her to lay low. However, Vivian went out anyway. Eames found her near a warehouse and attacked her, but she was able to use her power to hold him back. Unfortunately, she let her guard down, not realizing she had in fact vanquished a clone of Eames, who then attacked her from behind and stabbed her with an athame, stealing her power. Natalie arrived just after she died, and unsuccessfully tried to heal her.
According to the Book of Shadows, the power of Deflection is granted to one witch per generation.
Aftermath
- Natalie: "I've come to warn the Charmed Ones that a warlock just killed my most powerful charge with this athame."
- Leo: "Oh, I'm so sorry."
- Natalie: "Thank you. The real tragedy is that it didn't have to happen. I warned her to lay low, and she didn't listen. She always refused to let her magic interfere with her life, and now a warlock has her power of deflection."

After Vivian's death, Natalie sought aid from the Charmed Ones. With her help, they vanquished Eames and avenged Vivian's death.
