Tarsina is an enchanted kingdom that appears in the non-canonical novel, The Queen's Curse.

The country is located somewhere in the countryside of Switzerland, inhabited by magical and mortal residents. Because the kingdom exists exclusively in its own realm, cloaked from mortal eyes, and few residents ever left the land, magical creatures in the outside world thought it to be a myth, including Whitelighters. None can enter unless they are invited by a resident.

The kingdom has only one city, surrounded by tall and white brick walls.

Magic is practiced and used freely in the kingdom. The kingdom's symbol is a calligraphy T with flourishes and twists running around and through it.[1]

History[]

For centuries, the people of Tarsina had lived in peace, invisible to mortals, except when invited by an inhabitant.

20th century[]

In the early 20th century, the locals began to venture out to the world to explore and introduced Tarsina to modern technology when they came back. Some of them returned with mortal spouses. The queen of that generation was furious at the idea of mixed marriages. Knowing she could not expel the mortals without risking a revolution, she cast a curse on the entire kingdom to preserve the purity of the royal bloodline: the throne prince or princess must marry a pure magical being by his or her 25th birthday at the latest or every mortal inhabitant in the kingdom will die. The queen passed away in 1916.

For two generations, the royal family had fought to keep the curse from enacting by marrying magical beings. However, some worked against them, hoping that by enacting the curse, the kingdom would be cleansed of mortals and become a purely magical place once more.

Lifting the Curse[]

In the early 21st century, the crown prince Colin sought to marry Paige Matthews, a Charmed One, to preserve the kingdom, despite his feelings for Corinne Van Den Pelt. The curse's loyalists, including Colin's mother, plotted to stop the wedding by threatening Paige and later kidnapping her. When Phoebe Halliwell's idea to make Corinne magical failed to stop the curse with Colin and Corinne's marriage, the sisters made one last effort: they gathered the entire kingdom's people and united their magic to break the curse once and for all.

By ending the curse, the kingdom was freed from its thrall and the loyalists were all arrested. The Charmed Ones and Leo were knighted and a ball was thrown in their honor before they went back to San Francisco.
