Power Categories Edit

First of all, who cares whether or not Telekinesis is in the chart. They are supposed to be examples of powers, not a definitive list, if you can't agree where it belongs, don't list it at all.

Secondly and more importantly, I just realized that the entire chart is completely inaccurate. Offensive, Defensive, Supportive and Teleportation powers are all active powers. Passive powers are powers that can't be controlled, like Immortality and High Resistance. The entire chart makes no sense.

Charmdozo 22:18, February 28, 2012 (UTC)

I agree with you. Fanycharmed 17:41, February 29, 2012 (UTC)

I Agree With you also, we should have one of the admins fix it. maybe something with active, and then inactive, the chart thats here already doesnt really give any accurate powers in the section. Magical1 03:40, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

I tried to fix the category chart with the activepassive things, but things keep jumping around every time I try to publish it. Can someone try to fix it? Charmdozo 09:26, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

Is it better now? :) By the way, I'm little confused about the supportive-powers thingy. It says they are not usable in battle, but for example Emathy was used in the battle, Phoebe killed few demons with it. And another thing - there were lots of times Phoebe recieved a premonition without calling for it and didn't have control over it - does that count as passive? Fanycharmed 17:48, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

But Phoebe has said many times that her Premonition power is passive, and that her first active power was Levitation. And speaking on Levitation, I've never understood why this power was categorized as defensive. I mean sure people have evaded attacks by levitating but it's the same as Paige orbing out of harm's way. Yemi1010 18:04, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

I think some powers are just too broad to be categorized so specifically, especially as the sisters become more and more advanced, many of their powers would fit under more than one category. Maybe cut down the examples slightly, just stick to the most obvious examples to avoid confusion P3nathan

I think she meant passive because at the time she couldnt really get a premonition on command. Or maybe she said it because the power couldnt kill. I think listing powers as passive or active first, and then different categories of active powers like offensive like TK and MC, defensive like MI, Deflection and Power Channeling/Replication and supportive like Premonition, Empathy and Telepathy. With Orbing, beaming and levitation as a transportation power.Kt111 21:33, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

Look, the whole power category thing is a fanbased thing, the majority of the powers was never categorized on the show. Anyway, a lot of powers can fall under multiple categories, and since users here are determined to place them in categories, I think they should be listed under the category it applies most of the time. Charmdozo 00:10, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

And @ Fanycharmed, thanks for fixing the chart, it was a bother getting it right. Charmdozo 00:14, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

Can flight be considered a teleportation power since it is faster than orbing.Kt111 00:24, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

Teleporting means dissapearing in one place then reappearing in another. Flying wouldn't count as teleportation since you can see the user travelling the distance P3nathan

I dont want to start a fight but then teleportation category leaves out transportation powers like flying and portal creation. Wouldnt be better if the category read Transportation instead of teleportation (powers used to move the user from one place to another by different means). I know there's not really much of a point in these categories but on the power pages it's required to list a category in the infobox.Kt111 15:46, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

I wouldn't object to that P3nathan

I don't have a problem with a transportation category, but not combined with teleportation. If we make a seperate transportation category, we can list all kinds of powers under it, like flight, levitation, floating, hyper speed. That way, we have a category that is about movement instead of instant relocation. Charmdozo 22:06, April 9, 2012 (UTC)

I was wondering if Intangibility counts as a transportation power since it allows users to walk through walls. Also i tried to change it but i messed up the chart. Kt111 00:14, April 10, 2012 (UTC)

I think it falls under the defensive category more. Charmdozo 10:53, April 10, 2012 (UTC)

@Kt111 Is this how you wanted it? :) Fanycharmed 18:52, April 10, 2012 (UTC)

That's perfect. Thanks.Kt111 01:10, April 11, 2012 (UTC)

What's the difference between passive and supportive powers? Edit

One thing I usualy wonder about is what's the diference of supportive and passive powers. I realize that active powers are those who enable to directly alter the world such as projection, elemental powers or even spellcasting. But supportive and passive powers are technicaly the same, they can't be used in battle. They only can help such as gattering info. And teleporting powers have some defensive nature (ie, in The Courtship of Wyat's father, a darklighter shoot a arrow to Leo but it didn't harmed him because he was orbing at the time and the arrow passed harmessly through his body because Leo was intangile at the time).

So what's the difference? Tuxer 15:45, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

Passive powers cannot be controlled, such as immortality or high resistance. They are powers that are always in effect. Supportive, offensive and defensive are all forms of active powers, with different uses. Charmdozo 18:11, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

TelekinesisEdit

Telekinesis should not be here, since it's not offensive power. At least not without deviating attacks. Therefore, it shouldn't be listed under offensive powers. --ShimmeringPumpkin 09:17, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

Telekinesis can be listed under multiple categories, but it's mostly used offensively. But really, the powers are just supposed to be examples, so it's not a big deal. Charmdozo 09:22, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

Chronolock Edit

the page i created was marked for deletion by charmdozo and tooniee because they think that this is not a real power and they may be right i am creating this topic for a vote on who thinks it is a real power and who thinks it is not a real power. if this power is real then i will recreate the page if not then i will clear the page. Chronolock is the divine ability in which one can exist outside of time and space. it is also called Time Lock And Time Seal. it is listed in The Super Power Wiki that was why i listed it here.

Jacob Pagano 22:57, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

I don't think it's a power. These beings just exist outside of space and time, that's just the way it is. Tooniee 06:32, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

You already mentioned is, but I don't consider it a power either. And just to mention it, neither Tooniee or I have the power to delete pages on our own. Charmdozo 08:22, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

Is it a charmed power and if it is who are the users.Kt111 14:03, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

oh sorry i did not mean to say deleted i meant to say marked for deletion

Kt111 the beings below exist outside of space and time.

The Avatars

The Cleaners

Demons, Darklighters, Warlocks and The Source when in the underworld

The Elders when in the heavens, Magic School or in the underworld

Whitelighters when in the heavens, Magic School or in the underworld

The Angel Of Destiny

The Angel Of Death

The Tribunal

Cole Turner when in the astral plane or in the cosmic void between life and death

If it is a power then it's a power related to a certain place like Magic School, The Heavens, Limbo, etc or a subpower of Time Manipulaion or Chronokinesis.Kt111 17:14, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

Even is this power existed, it still would not apply to the underworld the heavens and magic school, as it has been shown that time moves there, though in the case of the heavens at different speed. Piper and Leo were in the heavens for a day, and three months passed in the world, time has been shown to run normally in the underworld and magic school. Charmdozo 19:01, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

1920 cousins Edit

What powers do you think P.Bowen and P.Baxter would possess, if they took the power tripling potion instead of P.Russell...?? 85.75.108.173 20:50, October 16, 2012 (UTC)

I dont think their powers would change they would just be stronger versions of them. For example Baxter's MI/MD would reach charmed Piper's level of strength being able to easily slow down/freeze Anton if needed (since he is just an upper level warlock). The same thing could happen to Bowen enabling her to completely freeze someone in ice maybe to the point of mimicking Inhibition.Kt111 (talk) 21:02, October 16, 2012 (UTC)

I think the same. I think Russel will have had the same power (producing flames) just not as strong. Perhaps the way Serena Fredrick did, creating small flames. Then the potion made her capable of creating large flames and throwing them outwards. That's what I always imagined anyway. P3nathan (talk)

Was it really neccesarry to post the same question on four talk pages? Charmdozo (talk) 21:14, October 16, 2012 (UTC)

You mean 5. 22:09, October 16, 2012 (UTC)

I believe P.Baxters MD could be evolved into MI or if she already possess MI, it could be evolved into a stronger aspect.Perhaps Molecular Inhibition or simply reach the levels of Pipers MI.P.Bowens power could reach the level of Ludlows Cryokinesis.Allowing her to shot beams of ice from her hands as well and maybe freeze the targets completely. 85.75.108.173 22:23, October 16, 2012 (UTC)

New sub-section Edit

I am suggesting a new sub-section for those powers which transform people and things such as Transformation, Glamouring, Transmogrification and Shapeshifting, "Physical Alteration". I know it sounds crazy, and that's why I put it here instead of the article. I need the opinion of you guys before I move forward. I feel this missing section is like a missing tooth, which is why I am proposing this discussion.Undominanthybrid (talk) 18:24, November 12, 2012 (UTC)

In my opinion, it's a bit unnecessary. There are little powers that would be included in such categories. Tooniee (talk) 18:30, November 12, 2012 (UTC)

I don't really know what to say. Well, you have voiced your opinion, I am inviting others too.Undominanthybrid (talk) 18:40, November 12, 2012 (UTC)

Its completely unnecessary, not to mention wrong, as Glamouring doesn't even involve physisal alteration. Charmdozo (talk) 19:00, November 12, 2012 (UTC)

There isn't enough powers that would faall under that category. Dcoffron (talk) 19:03, November 12, 2012 (UTC)

Actually, it should be "Transformation", but as it is one of the powers, I wanted to avoid that. I suggested this section because I felt that it would make this list complete. I know that I sound persistant and somewhat pestering, but that's what I am when it comes to things that I strongly believe in.Undominanthybrid (talk) 19:10, November 12, 2012 (UTC)

Hello, is everyone sleeping? None of your arguments haven't convinced me yet.Undominanthybrid (talk) 19:03, November 16, 2012 (UTC)

What sub-sections are you refering to? What are the current sub-sections? Dcoffron (talk) 20:03, November 16, 2012 (UTC)

@undominanthybrid, I think you're kinda missing the point here. You're the one making a suggestion, we don't need to convice you, you need to convince others the change is worth it, and it's not. Charmdozo (talk) 20:53, November 16, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry for being late, but I was a bit caught up. @Dcoffron, the sub-section I am referring to is the "Offensive", "Defensive" and "Supplemetary", etc. @Charmdozo, I have only one reason to convince you all. All the powers mentioned above form a separate category, so I wished to make it clear to our wikia readers.Undominanthybrid (talk) 14:58, November 23, 2012 (UTC)

About the title I suggested, that's the best I could make up. I also want you guys to suggest some.Undominanthybrid (talk) 15:02, November 23, 2012 (UTC)

None of us suggests a title because none of us like the idea of a sub-section.? Tooniee (talk) 19:51, November 23, 2012 (UTC)

I like that. Not what you said, I didn't like it, but I like your humour. Although I don't like how this ended, as they say, majority rules and democracy wins, if all of you are against my suggestion, lets wrap up this discussion. Well, if anyone has the same doubt as me, all they have to do is come here.Undominanthybrid (talk) 19:58, November 23, 2012 (UTC)
