Stephen Tremaine is a major character appearing in the Charmed novel Beware What You Wish.
He created and sold computer gaming software from an efficiency apartment in Oakland twenty years prior. As his company grew in industrial business, he expanded his software into military simulations and applications before he finally sold his company in 2000. Through his business, he became one of the richest and most eligible bachelors in the State of California.
History[]
At some point he got hold of the Spirit Stone from a tribe that inhabited the central Amazon regions three thousand years ago.
Prue Halliwell was given the task to photograph Stephen Tremaine, who was running for congress. Like many who read his profile and knew his public image, Prue did not find the man particularly fitting for the election: his charming and patient demeanor was more of an act to get people to vote for him rather than his actual personality. During the photoshoot, Stephen accidentally released the demon Athulak who was sealed inside the spirit stone when he "wished" he wasn't going up against Noel Jefferson.
Since his wish played a vital role in securing Athulak's release, the demon did everything he could to keep the witches distracted, such as fulfilling Phoebe's wish to help more people (which prompted her to experience more visions than she could handle), and attacking the sisters when they were close to stopping his plan. In the end, the demon was banished and the world was saved.
Appearances[]
Stephen Tremaine appeared in a total of 1 non-canonical novel throughout the franchise.
