A feline familiar who betrayed his witch, becoming a Warlock in the process. The potion that turned him into a Warlock also killed his former owner, transferring her power of projective levitation to him. In addition to this ability Shadow also possessed the power to teleport, and the ability to adjust, breaking free of molecular immobilization. Because Shadow was a former cat familiar he had to shed nine lives before he could become an immortal Warlock. He went after the Charmed Ones in order to make them kill him. The Charmed Ones froze him at the moment of his ninth death, casting a spell to make him feel the pain of all of his vanquishes, killing him for good.

The only way for the Charmed Ones to vanquish him was to let him feel the pain of all his deaths at once which would cause him to be vanquished forever. This is extremely difficult to pull off. First, the warlock in question should have been killed eight times previously. Second, the warlock has to be killed for a ninth time but be frozen before his demateralization and third, the potion (in a pouch) should be thrown at the warlock after which the spell has to be cast before the warlock unfreezes.
