The Charmed Ones, modern-day witches Piper, Phoebe and Paige, move into Season Four with deeper, darker and more deftly erafted stories. As Piper and Phoebe struggle with the loss of their older sister, they discover the existence of half-sister Paige Matthews. Possessing the power to orb as a half-Whitelighter, Paige joins the Halliwell sisters to recreate the magical triad that protects the innocent and vanquishes evil. But all may be lost as Cole's demonic side takes over, and Leo must face his past if he is to help the sisters in a battle that could destroy them all.

The opening credits for each episode include the following.

NOTE:

If one of the supporting characters does not appear in a particular episode, his/her name also does not appear in the opening credits.
Charmed, Again is the only episode this far that doesn't feature the full 52 second Opening Credits, instead a 10 second title card is used, this is again used for two-hour premiere episodes.
From Hell Hath No Fury, the Opening Credits drastically change format from previous seasons. A new format is used as well as a new billing order. Alyssa Milano is billed first followed by Rose McGowan. Holly Marie Combs is given Top Billing with the titles, And Holly Marie Combs as 'Piper'". The billing order is no longer in age of sisters but in order of payment. Alyssa gets paid the most with Holly and Rose after her. Since Holly demanded to be credited as And Holly Marie Combs as 'Piper'" she appears after Rose.
Instead of two clips consisting of the sister's powers and a title clip of the actress, three short shots of each sister is used.

Phoebe has chosen to stay with Cole and take on the role as Queen of the Underworld, but a premonition of an innocent in danger compels her to rejoin her sisters. Word spreads that the Queen is responsible for saving an innocent and Phoebe and Cole may be facing a bloody coup, with the only solution to prove their dark allegiance being to kill Phoebe's family.

Phoebe, Piper and Paige are visited by the Angel of Destiny, who offers the Charmed Ones the chance to chart a new destiny as a reward for vanquishing the Source of All Evil and fullfilling their destiny. The sisters can remain Charmed or choose to relinquish their powers and lead normal lives again. Piper and Leo learn some good news of their own.
