Necromancer

The Necromancer was a former demon named Armand, who had fallen in love with Penny Johnson; Grams. Although he loved her deeply, he had done something that caused Penny to vanquish him. Although he was vanquished, he became a ghost and became greedy for more power. He began devouring the spirits from magical beings which would cause him to temporarily come back to life. A few years later, Penny had fallen in love with another man, Allen Halliwell. In 1950, they had gotten a child, Patty Halliwell, and were having Patty's wiccaning when the Necromancer attacked. He wanted to devour every spirit of the Halliwell line so that he could come back to life for eternity, but Penny could vanquish him once again before he could execute that plan.
In 2003, the Necromancer came back, in an attempt to do the same on the Wiccaning of Penny's great-grandson, Wyatt Matthew Halliwell. Only this time, Penny was now a ghost, and her soul was coveted by the necromancer; as such, he controlled her through his magic. He nearly succeeded in devouring the spirits of the Halliwell line until Penny's granddaughter, Paige Matthews cast the Truth Spell on Penny. The spell broke the Necromancers magic on Penny and revealed that she still loved him but Penny's love for her family was bigger and so she vanquished his ghost for all eternity.
