"… he's the key to continuing the eternal cycle."
Novak to the Charmed Ones[src]

Lo Pan was the keeper of the sacred garden where the Chinese Zodiacs gathered each year to exchange Buddha's Mystical Staff. His family had served the Zodiacs for generations and Lo Pan was eventually rewarded for his service by being chosen to replace the Zodiac Rooster.

As keeper of the garden, Lo Pan was initially looked down upon by the Zodiacs, who viewed him as just a servant. In 2006, Lo Pan relocated the garden to a dry-cleaning store in San Francisco. He anticipated Novak attacking and sent out a message asking for help. This message was eventually found by Piper Halliwell and Billie Jenkins. However, he was also followed by Novak's minions, which revealed the location of the garden to them.

Novak and his minions attacked the garden and managed to kill Rooster. However, Lo Pan arrived with Piper in Billie just in time to save the staff. As Piper left to protect the staff, Lo Pan trained Billie in mastering her Projection power. He revealed the garden was a place of answers and told her she could find her sister. With his guidance, Billie traveled through time and found Christy.

Staff 4

Lo Pan becomes Rooster.

When Novak obtained the staff and turned the Charmed Ones evil, he sent them to kill Lo Pan. Billie defended him and turned the sisters back to normal with her new power. They then headed to Magic School and vanquished all the demons.

When Piper returned to the garden, she learned that Lo Pan had been rewarded for his actions by becoming the new Rooster. He then performed the ceremony to hand over the staff, continuing the eternal cycle.
