Guardians of Pandora's Box

The Guardians of Pandora's box (a powerful box which contained all of the world's sorrows) were assigned to protect the box and make sure it would never be opened by demons thus releasing all of it's sorrows. These guardians are chosen beings, part of a magical lineage. In every generation a girl is born, meant to guard Pandora's Box. Each girl is trained by the previous guardian and instructed carefully about the dangers and powers of the Box. If a guardian dies the box moves on to the next one. However if the next Guardian hasn't been born, there won't be anyone around to guard the box or put released evil back in.

Guardians have the power to produce Energy blast, which enables them to blow away their enemies using energy.
Should the sorrows be released, only Guardians will be immune to it.

[edit] Pandora
Pandora was the first guardian of the box. As mentioned by Katya, she was the one who put all the sorrows back into the box after she released them.

Nina was one of the guardians of Pandora's box. She died in a fight with the demon Katya to protect the box. She never had the chance to find the next guardian, Hope, and to teach her all about the box, its powers and the powers a guardian possesses.
- Katya guised herself into Nina to get from the Charmed Ones to find the box. When she finally has the box, she reveals herself to Piper and Hope.

Hope was a student at Berkeley University with her best friend named Darcy. Hope received the box after Nina, the previous guardian was killed by Katya. Without knowing anything of the myth she briefly opened the box, trying to find out what was in it. Katya later lured Hope into opening the box and in return, Katya would spare the life of her friend Darcy. After Katya was vanquished Hope needed to put all sorrow back into the box but didn't believe she could until her friend Darcy mentioned that the last thing that stay in the box was hope. Hope then puts all sorrow back and began her life as Guardian of Pandora's box. As a Guardian, Hope has the power of energy blasts, which enables her to blow away her targets. She also can utilize that power to shield off oncoming attacks, such as when Katya threw a sai at her and she protected herself with this power. Until the next Guardian is chosen, Hope is the only magical being who can open Pandora's box to either release or trap all the sorrows from the box.
