Gregg was an employee at the Bay Mirror and was one of Phoebe Halliwell's colleagues and friends. He mentioned having a daughter.

As "Julie Bennett", Phoebe visited the newspaper after she and her sister faked their deaths. Gregg was one of the many employees that talked about how much Phoebe was loved and missed. According to him, Phoebe helped him through his divorce. Phoebe later began working there while still posing as her cousin.
After Phoebe had a premonition about an earthquake ruining Dex's art exhibition, she told Gregg to write an article on earthquakes to prepare people. Another co-worker then remarked she reminded him of someone, to which Gregg agreed.
