A Future Darklighter, also known as Darklighter-to-Be, is a mortal who performs acts of great evil that ultimately corrupt them until they become darklighters upon death. They are only featured in the novel Mist and Stone.
Just as truly selfless humans become whitelighters after they die, those with hardened hearts and no tolerance for mercy become Darklighters.[1] However, though they are most prone to evil, their fates are not unchangeable if they learn kindness and mercy.
