Petrification is the ability to turn other beings to stone with a single look. The effects can be simulated with a spell or potion. When using this power, some users' eyes turn white.

Overview[]

This power needs to be consciously activated. To make it effective, the victim and user need to be in direct eye contact. By averting looking into the user's eyes or using sunglasses would be effective to protect oneself from being petrified.

There are known ways to reverse the effects. One such example would be to sprinkle Fairy Dust, leprechaun's luck and a potion on the victim before hitting them with an axe.

History[]

This power was first seen used by the Titan Meta. She channeled her power through her eyes to petrify three Whitelighters, so that the Titans could steal the power of orbing to enter the Heavens. Her power only worked when the target looked directly into her eyes. Chris avoided her power by wearing tinted sunglasses.

Upon his arrival, Chris claimed that some of the ancient Greek statues in museums are really victims of petrification. Phoebe Halliwell managed to reverse petrification by using a combination of a fairy's dust, a leprechaun's luck, a witch's potion and a dwarf's axe to free a petrified Paige.[1]

While fighting her sisters, Amelia Desmots, Andy Trudeau, Darryl Morris and Henry Mitchell, Prue turns Henry to stone with her gaze.[2] The magic is reversed when Piper killed Prue.[3]
