Joanna was a Future Whitelighter and a charge of Paige Matthews, who failed to achieve her destiny due to her untimely death at the hands of demon Zankou.
History[]
Meeting Paige[]
Paige most likely met Joanna after discovering that she was her charge. She befriended Joanna over the course of 2005, and watched over her as a precaution, due to her abusive boyfriend, Karl. The two often went to P3, where Paige would give her advice on how to handle her life. They seemed very close, as Joanna said if it weren't for Paige, she wouldn't know what to do.
Death[]
Joanna and Paige are hanging out near the bar at P3. Joanna tells Paige of her abusive boyfriend named Karl. Paige tells her she needs to break up with him, but Joanna insists that he loves her. Just then, Karl walks over, and immediately Paige gets a bad vibe from him. Karl demands her to leave, telling her that he didn't want her to see or talk to Paige anymore. It turned out that Karl was really Zankou. Zankou crushed Joanna's head, killing her. Paige was greatly saddened by Joanna's death. This gave her even more reason to vanquish Zankou.
Resurrection[]
As a plan to get the Book of Shadows, Zankou had an Alchemist resurrect Joanna as a zombie. She had no will of her own, and along with many other innocents lost by the Charmed Ones, she attacked them. Paige was forced to vanquish her with a potion.
