"You have no power over me. I have evolved to a place where I have released all mortal fears. My inner strength will destroy you."
—Zoe to Barbas.[src]

Zoe was a witch who lived in San Francisco and was one of Barbas's victims in 1999. She had a fear of fire, which she never truly overcame. Like all of the demon's other victims, she was an unmarried woman.

History[]

Barbas Attacks[]

Barbas: "You didn't release your fear of fire, you only repressed it."
Zoe: "No, please."
Barbas: "Save it for another life time. You're frozen in fear."
— Zoe and Barbas, moments before her death.[src]

Knowing of the Demon of Fear, she realized that he would come after her, as he had to kill thirteen unmarried witches in order to be freed permanently from Purgatory. To prepare, Zoe tried to remove all of her fears, which she thought she did, but when Barbas finally arrived to claim her life, he used his power to see that she still had a fear of fire, which she only repressed. He proceeded to use it to kill her, making her believe the room was alight and burning. She died because her heart gave out, not because of smoke inhalation like the police thought, becoming one of his thirteen planned victims.
