Power Extraction means to pull powers out of magical beings or objects by the use of spells, potions or abilities. It can be temporary or permanent if absorbed completely. It should not be confused with Power Absorption, though the effect is similar.

Powers[]
Demonic Power Brokers have the ability to extract the powers they placed in other beings for storage purposes. The powers, when extracted, appear as single spherical white orbs.[1]
Spells and Rituals[]
Prue, Piper, and Phoebe once recited a spell to relinquish their powers and they are extracted and stored in a mystical lantern. The powers, when extracted, appeared as several blue-white orbs.[2]
Gail Altman once extracted the Charmed Ones' powers with a potion and a spell and gave them to the demon Cryto.
Piper once recited a spell to exchange her power with Leo Wyatt's, but inadvertently exchanged Prue's power with Phoebe's as well. Later Prue recited the spell twice to exchange powers with a Darklighter.[3]
Years later, Piper and Phoebe cast the "To Exchange Power" spell in an attempt to exchange powers, but Zankou interrupted the spell, which caused the powers fly into two nearby mortals.[4]
Cole, as the Source of All Evil, once enlisted a Wizard to help him give up his demonic powers. The wizard and Cole performed a spell to transfer the Source's power to the wizard. However, Phoebe vanquished the wizard before transfer was complete. The powers when extracted, appear as a bright transparent human-like figure.[5]
Potions[]
Zankou extracted Phoebe's power with a potion from To Separate a Witch from Her Powers. He later used the same potion to extract Piper's powers. The powers, when extracted from Piper and Phoebe, appeared as swirling blue white orbs.[6]
Artifacts[]
The Hollow absorbs any magical power that is used against it along with the original owner's other powers, leaving them powerless in the process.
A Power-Sucking Athame has the ability to absorb the powers of whoever is stabbed with it. The powers are stored within the blade until they are extracted. It is commonly used by warlocks to kill witches and steal/store their powers.
