Cursing

A curse is a magical enchantment designed to produce negative effects, often placed on a particular object or aimed at a certain individual. It is the strongest kind of negative magic with Hexes being just underneath and Jinxes being the weakest. Beings with the power to cast spells can also curse other beings through said spells. however Powerful Upper Level Demons and magical beings seem to be Immune to it.

Melinda Warren placed a curse on Matthew Tate, locking him inside of an amulet for several centuries. She later, in 1998, cursed him into it again this time taking the locket where it could never be opened again. ("The Witch Is Back")

[edit] Darklighters
Some darklighters such as Spirit Killer have the active power to curse, which essentially curses an individual with bad luck. For example if there are two potential outcomes the worst of the two will come about, given a magical nudge by the curse.
[edit] The Wolf and Owl
Another incident jealous Sorcerer placed a curse on two innocents--Brooke and Christopher--so that they may never be together. The curse turned Brooke into a wolf at night and Christopher into an owl in the day.

The Demon Vicus was able to curse Wyatt Halliwell by gaining his trust and turned him evil. "(Imaginary Fiends").
