After suffering a serious injury at the hand of The Charmed Ones, Cole disappears leaving Phoebe to worry. As the girls prepare a potion to destroy Belthazor, they encounter Krell, a demon bounty hunter sent by The Source to kill Belthazor. Piper reluctantly agrees with Prue to join forces with Krell to find Belthazor so they can vanquish him, as Phoebe searches for information as to the current whereabouts of Cole. Later Prue, Phoebe and Piper learn that Cole is the demon that has been trying to kill them, Phoebe faces the tough decision of killing the man she loves or defying her sisters by letting him go free.
Prue and Piper prepare a potion to vanquish Belthazor. Phoebe is worried because she has not heard from Cole in a week; she joins her sisters and they say a spell over the potion. When nothing happens, they realize that they forgot the slice of Belthazor's flesh. Piper adds it and an explosion blasts her halfway across the kitchen. Belthazor, wounded, hides in a cemetery. The demon Krell is after him and tracks him by his blood into a mausoleum. Krell flings lightning and Belthazor answers with an energy ball, trapping Krell. Belthazor struggles to assume his human form and joins a funeral, hitching a ride with a mourner and eluding Krell. Cole hides in an alley and abandons his coat. He turns into Belthazor to tear a new bandage from his shirt. A bum finds his coat. As Phoebe goes to class, Prue and Piper duck behind an overturned table and use a spell to summon Belthazor. They end up summoning Krell instead. Prue flings him but Piper freezes him in midair to protect the much-abused grandfather clock. Piper unfreezes his head and he demands to be unfrozen; Piper obliges, smashing the grandfather clock. Krell says he is a bounty hunter and that he, too, is after Belthazor.
