Abraxas

Abraxas is a demon of the astral plane that succeeded in stealing the Book of Shadows from the attic, becoming the first evil being to do so. Abraxas never took the Book out of the Manor he just took it to the Astral Plane lying beyond the physical plane while in the Manor.

Once he had the Book, Abraxas proceeded to read it backwards, thus reviving three of the Charmed Ones' foes from season one.  Had he made it all the way to the front of the book, he would have stripped the sisters of their powers, since the "Dominus Trinus" spell (which Phoebe had used to unbind their powers) was on the first page.

The Charmed Ones vanquished Abraxas by drawing him to a place of power and harnessing the energy of the equinox by reciting the Dominus Trinus spell.
